Test shoot

Following my growing interest in dark, themes of lust and longing, from my words 'Provide/Desire,' I decided to do a test shoot, trying to convey these tones in my photography. I wanted to use a male model, and thought that Billy's rugged look fitted the shadowy, low-key lighting that I prefer well. I also began to experiment with profile and three-quarter shots, as well as altering the white balance.

(Very underexposed, although I like the angled composition and the shadow)

I really liked the textured black background. Although out of focus in the last few images, I really liked the silhouetted effect, and how soft the lighting looked when the model was stood in front of a soft box. I enjoyed playing around with white balance, and often liked the warmer ones, e.g. 'cloudy' or 'shade.' I found it interesting having to change the aperture to better suit the model's skin and hair colour. I liked the composition of the images that had hands in.
